Who is the True Defender of GOP?

Mrs. Radford said, "I knew I would never... offer myself to voters as anything other than a Republican."

Oh? She registered Unaffilated on November 27, 2000. She filed to run for city council with the city clerk on December 7, 2000 AS AN UNAFFILIATED VOTER. Call the clerk at 385-5901 to verify this. She did not become a "Republican" until the next year. So she was caught not telling the truth to the public. She also was trying to cover up her liberal Democrat views by registering and running as Unaffiliated, until she was told that only Republicans get elected in this county. THEN she switched again. Are these acts of sincere philosophical belief? Or are they political deceptions?

Here's another lame excuse in the same story. She says she did not vote in FOUR elections because "I was an unhappy registered Democrat at the time, and I was not interested in being active."

What does that have to do with not voting on non-partisan ballot issues in 1997? That November election contained both a state and a city ballot issue, both of which dealt with improving roads and other infrastructure. That ballot also covered the non- partisan District 11 school board races and other ballot issues. Did she not care just because SHE was not on the ballot? If she was so unhappy with being a Democrat (since 1975), why did she register Democrat again in October 1996, just in time to vote for Bill Clinton again, after she had been purged from the voter rolls, presumably also for not voting? Why did she change registration only after she decided to run for office in this (Republican) county?

What kind of example does she set for young adults when a candidate does not exercise the highest privilege of citizenship, one which many Americans have died to safeguard?
